Designed specially for younger learners aged 6 to 11, and 12 to 18 years old, RWC’s unique China Summer Camp Program combines language courses at a renowned university or school in Beijing, extensive interaction with local Chinese students, and optional 2 weeks of travel to some of China’s most famous and beautiful destinations.

Students will join the Chinese Immersion Program at Beijing Language and Culture University or Beijing Academy of Chinese Studies for 2-6 weeks. The language program focuses on learning Chinese by doing it in real world. The extensive interaction with local Chinese students includes language exchange, social activities, guided excursions, volunteer events, allowing students to rapidly improve their Mandarin while experiencing China. Camp Leaders
There are 2 camp leaders in each group: an international Camp Leader and a Chinese Camp Leader. Our leaders provide direct supervision, guidance and assistance 24 hours a day.
Camp Buddy
There will be a Chinese camp buddy to be introduced to each student, with whom they will pair up during social and sporting activities. All buddies are high school students. In matching camp buddies, the Camp Buddy Coordinator takes into consideration factors including age, gender, hobbies and interests.

A placement test is held at the first days of the program to determine the students' level of Chinese. The students are divided both according to their age group and current level of Chinese (Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced). The following skills and subjects are taught at all levels: Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Chinese culture. Materials are provided and are included in the program fee. At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate, a progress report and transcript. |
Interaction with local Chinese students
Apart from the core language classes, international and Chinese campers will interact, study and socialize with each other throughout their stay. International students from all over the world learn Chinese whilst local Chinese students learn English at the Immersion Camp

Accommodation
Option 1: Resident Dormitories
Students stay in double rooms with private bathrooms. On-site staff takes care of all students 24 hours a day.
Option 2: Host Families
Students stay in double rooms with a Chinese host family near the school. Host families are carefully selected and will give students assistance and support during their stay in China.
For either option, meals are offered every day of the week and include breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. During excursions or activities, students are provided with a lunch and a snack. Clothes and bed linen are collected and washed at a laundry service once a week. Students are requested to bring a laundry bag with them.
For optional study tour after language program, all students are placed at 3 or 4 star hotel (standard room), and Chinese meals are offered 3 times a day.

Visa
Students should apply for an L Visa. If the program duration is not covered by the initial visa approval, an extension will be made by the host institution and RWC on arrival. Students are responsible for obtaining the necessary visas for their stay in China.

The Summer Camp is open to students from all over the world who are at between the ages of 6 to 11 and 12 to 18 years old. For exceptions, contact RWC Offices.

The application deadline is usually 8 weeks before the start of the program. The enrollment and payment of program fee deadline is 4 weeks before start of the program. For late application, contact RWC.
