After finishing his degree in New Zealand,
John worked with the Consulate General of Canada in Hong
Kong. His position in the Commercial Office broadened
his understanding of Hong Kong and China’s business climate
and the market potential for various exports, including
education. Upon his return to Canada, he devoted himself
to work in the education field and exchange between east and
west. John understands what students really need since
he used to study and work abroad for several years. This
is the reason why he set up Real World Chinese with a focus on
offering not only excellent academic programs, but honest and
useful information for students who want to study in
China. John now presides over Real World China’s
expansion efforts and all operational matters.
Mary is originally from Liaoning
Province and graduated from Liaoning University. She worked
for a local newspaper as a journalist for 3 years before
becoming a Chinese language teacher. Having an excellent
understanding of languages benefited more than 2000 students
over the course of her work term. She was given an outstanding
Chinese teacher award several years running in Beijing. She is
currently in charge of electives, social activities, and
tutoring arrangement for Real World Chinese. Mary speaks
fluent English and Mandarin.
Rick was born in the UK, and holds a Master
degree in literature from Sheffield University in UK. Due his
deep love of travel and new cultures, he went to China, where
he lived for several years, traveled extensively to almost all
parts of China. Rick joined Real World Chinese in 2006, and is
currently in charge of the Study Travel and DIY adventure
programs. His own experiences enable him to provide detailed
and practical information to students who like new cultural
experiences. As an excellent photographer, Rick took more than
ten thousand photos in China, which are to be published in a
book soon.
Born in Tianjin and a graduated from Tianjin
University with a degree in Business, Sunny had worked in
Beijing as a Senior Human Resource Consultant for top Chinese
HR Company for almost 10 years before joining in Real World
Chinese. Currently she is mainly in charge of the operations
of the China Business program and international student
internship placements. With her extensive business
networking experience in Beijing, she is a definitely a
valuable resource to students who want to become further
connected to the local and international Chinese business
community. Sunny enjoys swimming and running in her free time.
Sunny speaks mandarin and
English.
After finishing his degree in
Education in North America, James worked as a consultant for
several years in Beijing. He joined RWC in 2004. James
also learned martial arts when he was only 8 year old and
later was trained in Shaolin Temple for 2 years. From
2000 to 2002, he taught students Taichi in his spare time in
Beijing. Currently he is in charge of Martial Arts program in
Real World Chinese. James still keeps practice martial arts
every morning with international
students.
Jing comes from Hebei province and studied
at Beijing United University in Beijing with a degree in Arts.
Before she joined RWC in 2006, she worked at an investment
company as an administration coordinator. Currently her main
duties at Real World Chinese include Visa document
preparation, student apartment accommodation, and insurance.
In her free time, Jing enjoys reading, cooking, and watching
movies. Jing speaks Mandarin and English.
