Campus facilities
Library
Renmin University Library was set up in
1937. The library now has 15 reading rooms in which there are
more than 1,800 seats. These reading rooms are responsible for
a variety of services including audio-visual services,
consultation services, inter-library loans, binding services,
information requests services and other services. Currently,
the library has over 2,500,000 volumes in its collection,
among which are many valuable social sciences, economics,
humanities, and administration. The library has collected more
than 3,000 essential periodicals, 400,000 thread-bound
classical books, and more than 30,000 copies of rare books. To
facilitate the use of the collection, the library offers a
rich digital resource in networks
Recreation Facilities

A largest and
most modern university gym is available at Renmin University,
including indoor and outdoor basketball courts, a large sports
ground, tennis courts, and a first-class swimming pool. The
use of these facilities is free for students. The Students’
Union is responsible for varied programs of social and
entertainment events. A series of activities such as lectures,
films and concerts also makes campus life enjoyable.

Laundry
Laundry facilities are available on every
floor in the student dormitories. Dry-cleaning services can be
found on campus. A better service is provided in the famous
Prandler Laundromat which is just five minutes away.
Money & Banking
A branch of the Industrial and Commercial
Bank of China is conveniently located on campus. ATM machines
are available 24 hours, which also accepts foreign currencies.
The bank provides a range of services for international
students, from opening bank accounts, to money transfers and
foreign currency exchanges. Business hours are generally from
9:00 am to 5:00 pm, all week long.
Medical Care
The university clinic is located on campus
with Chinese-speaking doctors and nurses. Haidian Hospital has
English services, and is located just 10 minutes by walk from
the campus. The on-site pharmacy stocks Western medication and
TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) ingredients. The hospital
provides 24 hours services and accepts either cash or credit
card.
SOS, an international hospital, is open 24
hours a day in Chaoyang District. It has comprehensive medical
services including physiotherapy, dentistry, occupational
therapy, counseling, nutrition and TCM. The well- stocked
pharmacy offers Western medication and TCM ingredients. The
patient can make appointment at (8610) 6462-9112, and dental
appointments at (8610) 6462-0333.
Food & Groceries
A dining hall is available all week long
inside the campus which provides many kinds of food with a
reasonable price for Chinese and international students.
Additionally, Chinese, Muslim, Western, Japanese and Korean
cafes, bars and restaurants can be found in campus.
A convenience store and book store are
available on campus selling various food, drink, snack, daily
use and household items. Carrefour supermarket is about 5-10
minutes away by bus.
Postal Services
A post office is located on campus.
Students can send and receive mail and packages from all over
the world. The post office is open from Monday to
Friday.
