Library
Equipped with a fine collection of
books, CDs and DVDs, Beijing Academy of Chinese Studies has a big
study room and a language lab where students can work on their
oral Chinese. Computers are also available for students' use,
with Internet access allowing students to use online
language-learning tools and keep in touch with family and
friends in their home countries.
Recreation Facilities

There are many
gyms and swimming pools are available in the college's
surrounding area, offering convenient and accessible
opportunities for working out, swimming, table tennis and
other exercise options. Additionally, since the college is
close proximity to a number of universities, students can take
advantage of the basketball, tennis and badminton courts,
football fields and running tracks available for public use on
the university campuses. |

Laundry
On-site laundry services are not available
at BACS, but student's accommodation will have washing
machines provided. Dry cleaning services are available within
ten minutes walking distance from BACS.
Money & Banking
There are several China's major top banks
within 5 - 10 minutes walk from BACS, such as Bank of China,
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction
Bank. 24-hour ATMs are available at all banks to give students
the option of opening accounts for depositing and withdrawing
money, as well as international services such as currency
exchange and money transfer. Business hours are generally from
8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. These Banks accept
credit cards and travelers' cheques, provide deposits,
remittance and currency exchange services.
Additionally, you can exchange currency at
some bank locations using the following credit cards: American
Express, MasterCard, Visa, Diner's Club, JCB, Million and
Federal Card. Please note that not all ATM machines in Beijing
accept international ATM cards. You may also apply for a
domestic ATM card if you open a Chinese bank account.
Medical Care
Several pharmacies can be found nearby BACS,
stocking Chinese and most Western medications for common
complaints. For more serious cases, International SOS, one of
Beijing's top international hospitals, provides medical
assistance and comprehensive medical services for the whole
family, including dentistry, counseling, physiotherapy,
occupational therapy, nutrition and TCM (traditional Chinese
medicine).
24-hour emergency medical services are
available at International SOS. Highly-trained expatriate and
overseas-trained Chinese GPs provide services in English,
Chinese, French, Spanish and many other languages. A
well-stocked pharmacy provides Western medication and TCM
ingredients.

Food & Groceries
Many cafeterias and restaurants are very
close to BACS, offering a wide variety of cuisine, including
Chinese, Western, Korean, Japanese and more. A meal generally
ranges from 5 to 25 RMB (0.6 -4 USD) per person depending on
what and where you eat. The cost of eating at restaurants is
very affordable. There are several comfortable in BACS's
student lounge, which is equipped with a coffee machine. A
fridge and microwave are also provided, in case you have to
grab your lunch quickly before going to class.
Many
supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafes in the area can
guarantee a fulfilling daytime and exciting nightlife. Several
small shops in the area stock a decent range of imported
groceries for students craving a taste of home, while
Carrefour and Wal-mart both have large stores a 10 – 15 minute
taxi ride away from BACS.
Postal Services
There is a post office within 15 minutes
walking distance from BACS providing post boxes, stamps and
packaging supplies and allowing students to send and receive
mail and parcels from around the world.

Conveniently located in the heart of Wudaokou, Beijing's dynamic academic district, BACS is within walking distance of many of Beijing's major universities, such as Beijing Language and Culture University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University. Additionally, BACS offers easy access to the nearby light rail/subway station and many bus routes, allowing for easy transportation around Beijing.
