This comprehensive, highly ranked Shanghai
university is a member of Universitas 21, a network of
research-intensive universities. Other members include
University of Virginia and UBC. 45,000 students study Fudan
University, in 69 various programs. Since the 1950s, Fudan has
enrolled international students, as one of the first few
institutions in China to do so. Since that time, Fudan has
accepted and trained over 10,000 international students from
100 different countries and regions worldwide. Many students
have received systematic training and have earned Bachelor's,

Library
Fudan University Library was officially
founded in 1922, previously known as the Reading Room of Wu Wu
in 1918. The library occupies 29,000 square meters with a
collection of 4.4588 millions books. It provides 8 open
stacks, 2 general reading rooms, 19 special function reading
rooms, and 2,400 seats. The Library opens 7 days weekly from
7:30am -10:30pm and serves more than 7,000 visiting readers
every day. It also offers online services, which are available
24 hours a day.

Recreation Facilities
Fudan University provides a variety of
recreation facilities to students including the table tennis
rooms, football field, tennis courts, volleyball courts,
basketball courts, running track and outdoor swimming pool.
Both Chinese and foreign students are welcome to join all
kinds of sports clubs which include a football club, table
tennis club, chess club, Chinese chess club, badminton club,
volleyball club, karate club, bridge club, martial arts club,
mountain climbing & expedition club, skating club, shadow
boxing club, and so on.
The maximum cost for the gymnasium
is RMB 2 per hour, while the use of the weigh-lifting
gymnasium is for free.
Laundry
There are many places on campus that offer
laundry services. Every dormitory building has one washing
room with several washing machines. The Laundromat are located
both in the front gate of the campus and outside of the campus
which is just 10 minutes by walk.
Banking
There are two banks on campus, Bank of China
and Agricultural Bank of China. They offer a variety of
banking activities such as deposits, withdrawals, foreign
currency exchange and money transfer. ATM machines are
available 24 hours.
Medical Care
Totally, Fudan University has 9 affiliated
hospitals, namely Huashan Hospital, Changhai Hospital,
Shanghai Dental Clinic, Shanghai Mental Health Center, Yueyang
Hospital, No. 1 Pulmonary Disease Hospital, Zhongshan
Hospital, the Obstetrics Hospital, and the Gynecology
Hospital. They are open 24 hours everyday. The doctors have
been well trained overseas and they can speak fluent English.
Both Western medication and Traditional Chinese Medicine are
available in the hospitals.
The Psychological Counseling Center in Fudan
University was established in 1994. Psychological counseling
can help students resolve a variety of life problems.
Psychotherapists help students understand themselves better,
thereby improving their ability to make important life
decisions and increasing their overall satisfaction with life.
The center opens from Monday to Friday. The office hours is
8:30 am – 11:30 am; 1:30 pm - 5 pm
Food & Groceries
The main campus consists of four students'
dinning halls which offer three meals a day with a low price.
Grand Restaurant is a good place for business dinners of
gatherings, which is located in the southeast corner of the
main campus. The Muslim Dining Center opens to both Muslims
and non-Muslims 24 hours a day. Located on the north campus,
the 5th Avenue Café and Sun Leisure Café offers sandwich and
coffee series. Right to the south of the 6th Class Building,
there are restaurants of Chinese and foreign styles, cafés,
tea houses, and pastry houses, offering you a wide variety of
culinary options.
Snacks, food, drinks, fruits, and other
items can be founded in the grocery store in campus. If you
walk 20 minutes from the main campus, you will find a large
grocery store.
There are 18 book stores inside the campus.
Students can find all kinds of books, such as foreign language
books, novels, magazines, and so on. Discount is available for
the students who are a member of the Fudan Jingshi Book
Club.
Postal Services
At the on campus post office, it is easy to send and receive mail all over the world.
